I've not talked about it much, but Jack is still crazy-over-the-moon in love with soccer. He's now played in eight different leagues, and he just wrapped up a week-long training camp last week. Lots and lots of rain last night. It's still booming far away right now, but the forecast says it is supposed to clear off and be sunny soon, and definitely for this afternoon. I hope so - we have a "rain date" in place for this party, but it leaves us with an option we don't want to take!

And the cake and many, many balloons won't even be picked up until tomorrow - yikes!

I'm working on all of Jack's thank-you notes right now. Surely he's received everything from everyone by now, though the gifts trickled in up until just a few days ago! I waited until now because otherwise I'd lose track of the notes. He just helped me to make a list of all necessary thank-yous, and then he'll sign the notes in the morning ( Read more... )

Today is Jack's birthday, and he is now six years old. We have an exciting, eventful day ahead of us, and it will be a memorable way to usher in the new year for him.
